Rob and Big
I know that I said I really don’t like MTV right now but, I think one show needs some serious attention— Rob and Big. Rob Dyrdek and Christopher “Big Black” Boykin could be the greatest combo of all time. Their show is an exaggerated version of everyday skateboarding lifestyle. I must say that when I’m feelin’ down and I see that Rob and Big is going to be on, a little smile comes across my face.
Rob not only skateboards but also runs several companies, is a spokesperson for Red Bull and Monster Energy drinks but also owns a mini horse and bulldog. I don’t think you can get any cooler than that. Mini and Meaty are certainly the breakout stars of the show. Mini with his wild antics and Meaty chewing everything in sight. Rob also has an alter-ego, Bobby Light. He sings about a chick that just can’t stop cheating on her boyfriend. It’s a terrible song but awesome if you need a good laugh.
Big Black is a private security guard for Rob. Rob was being harassed by cops and security guards when he was trying to skate and so he decided that he needed some type of security… Big Black. Rob and Big became close friends and now they ride around Hollywood on scooters shooting webguns at Spiderman impersonators. Big Black also has his own music group, “the Chunky Boys”. There music can be heard on their Myspace page. Big also has a clothing-line available at Finishline. These two guys know business and that’s why I respect them. They worked from the ground up and didn’t have famous last-names to fallback on.
The show itself is a riot. Rob tortures his poor cousin/ assistant, Drama. Meaty is just awesome. Mini bucks and kicks and bites but is still cool cause, well, he’s a miniature horse. Bam Bam is Big Black’s buddy and also a member of the Chunky Boys. Random pro skaters appear in episodes. It’s just a whole lotta fun. Plus, the catch phrases are amazing. “Is you good?”, “Time to do work, son”, “Tough in the streets!”, “Time to take a dump”. If you want to watch a show that will simply make you laugh, watch Rob and Big. It’s a quality program.

Big Black is married now and he has a child and he has also moved out from Rob’s crib.
Will there EVER be another season of Rob&Big???

Man.. I hate to see this show end. I have followed the show since the very first episode and loved it since. This is truly the best show in the world considering all the reality series suck.. I hope somehow they can figure out a way to keep the show going.

Of course it’s scripted. You can’t have situations like that without clearing the locations first and etc. It’s planned out, like what they’re going to do for the day and then whatever random funny thing that happens is real.
His house is on sale I guess for $1.7 mill or $6K a month if your interested.
The show was funny and it’s had it’s run, but Big Black and Rob aren’t even friends. Big Black wanted more money and etc.
