Two Words— CONAN O’BRIEN! Today was quite possibly the best day ever!!!!I told you all yesterday that I was going to be in Conan’s audience and damn it, I did it! I can’t believe that I was in the audience because this morning was miserable and I didn’t think I was going to even get a standby ticket.

I woke up this morning to a phone call at 545am from my mom. I really didn’t want to wake up that early but I am glad I did. I don’t think my friend was very happy…. Haha. We ended up leaving at 645am from our hotel room and walked to Rockefeller Center. The walk was nice because it only took about 15 minutes to get there. We walked into 30 Rock (which is a beautiful building btw) and the security guard told me that we needed to wait for the tickets outside. I thought that was sucky because it was cold and it looked like it was going to snow. I was right. The weather turned ugly fast. My friend had an umbrella and I was wearing a hat and scarf with my coat. That didn’t help with the blowing snow, though. I couldn’t understand why Conan would make his audience wait outside and make them stare at the NBC store display window that played an Olympic video on a constant rotation. Why Conan, why? I did make friends in line… a mother and daughter from Kentucky and a woman from Texas. It was so miserable outside. My friend was pissed off but you know what, I went shopping ALL day Saturday and the least she could do was stand in line for tickets. Lol. It was pretty cool standing outside for a little while because there must have been someone important at the Today Show because there was a convoy of NYPD cars outside 30 Rock. At around 9am a woman from the ticket office came outside and gave us our standby numbers… I was number four. OHHHHH YEAAAA.

For the remainder of the day I decided to take a tour of NBC, which was well worth it. I was able to see SNL studios, which is the most amazing experience because so many of my comedic heroes have walked those halls and stood on that stage. I even found out that the opening scene from “Friends” was filmed on the SNL stage… how about that little factoid. Haha. I also got to see MSNBC studios, Nightly News and the makeup studios. It was very interesting. I recommend taking the tour.

I didn’t have to be back at the standby call back till 330 so I had a lot of time to kill. I decided to hang out inside the commissary downstairs in Rockefeller Center for a while, read the newspaper, and watch the ice skaters fall on their asses. It was pretty awesome. I did go back to my room for about an hour to fix my hair and gather my thoughts. I then walked back to Rockefeller Center. I had to wait, again! I did run into the mother and daughter from Kentucky and so I stuck with them since I was there alone. I did end up getting in the audience line right away and I had to pass through some serious security. It was probably the coolest feeling ever when I was walking through the hallways that had posters of Conan and screenshots with him and guests. I have to say the best was when I was able to sit in my seat and actually see the studio. The studio was a little tiny I must say. I was in the middle and in the eight row. It was awesome!!! Before the show started, there was footage from Conan’s 10th anniversary special. Then the guy that plays Preparation H man came out and did a little improve. He was very funny. Then the Max Weinberg 7 came out sans Max Weinberg. He was sick. After they played two songs the man himself, CONAN O’BRIEN came out to greet the audience. I must say that he is so pale and extremely tall. His paleness makes me feel so much better about my paleness…. Haha. He is very funny in person and seems the same as his TV persona. He was dancing around and laughing at people and himself.

The show started and his monologue was a little short but it was very funny. The best part of the show was when he was talking about his ongoing feud with Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart from Comedy Central. He was playing the footage from Colbert and Stewart and afterwards he was claiming that he is sick of the crap from them and that if he ever saw them he would kick some Comedy Central ass. Conan ended up battling Colbert and Stewart and it was quite possibly one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen!!!!!!! The guests were kindof lame. However, Conan made the interviews funny. The musical performance was OneRepublic and they were very good.  After the show was over Conan sang a song to the audience and it was hilarious. He then waved to the crowd and walked out the studio. I must say it was one of the coolest experiences of my life.

After the show, I went to the NBC store and bought a t-shirt. I then walked back to the hotel and found out I could get a car service through them. I was so stoked to hear that. I am now driving to the airport in a Lincoln Town car. I drove into this town white trash style and I’m leaving like a diva. I didn’t really start packing yet. Maybe I should start. I did go back to Ray’s Pizza and it was delicious once again. I did go back to Times Square and I bought a cd. Nothing too exciting. I don’t think anything can be more exciting than seeing my idol. I had an amazing day and I wish I wasn’t going back to Pittsburgh tomorrow at the butt crack of dawn. My flight is at 830am so we have to leave the hotel at 6am…. That’s gonna suck. Conan Rulessssssss!!!!!!
